Absolutely five stars. Would give six if I could. Best chicken burger I've ever eaten (new recipe) get down there and try it! Cosy with twinkle lights and an open fire. Dog friendly. Lots of outside space great for the warmer months. Nice menu. Very reasonably priced and locals get a lunchtime discount midweek. Really friendly staff. The kind of local I'd always wished I had had just superb.

Stopped on my travels home whilst exploring dartmoor. Staff and service were second to none. Staff were very welcoming and efficient (cant thank their excellent customer service enough). Drinks were great and food selection was excellent with a good variety of vegan options. I had the Mexican chicken, which was a unique plate. It was extremley tasty and something like I've never had before. Thanks again!

Busy little place! Visited on a Tuesday lunchtime, surprised to find it nearly full.Considering it is quite out of the way, it is a credit to their reputation that it was so busy mid-week. The service was friendly but the food did take quite a while to come. As ours was a catch up between friends , that was not an issue, but would not want to come in a lunch hour. It wouldn't work. The food was good without being exceptional and reasonable value for money.

Fabulous We popped in tonight after seeing it advertised at Finlake Holiday Park. What a lovely warm welcoming pub with lovely staff and great food. Can't complain about any of it! Plus we took the dog. Definitely worth a visit.

Wow! Wow! That pretty much sums up our visit to the Claycutters Arms this evening. From start to finish a completely fantastic experience. Welcomed and seated. All questions answered and catered for a child with severe allergies in the most accommodating and accepting and sensitive way. Some feedback given to the Landlad and this was well received and appreciated. The staff were helpful and friendly and the food….. amazing! We would most definitely rate this evening 10/10 which is a very rare thing! But there was nothing at all to take away from the warm, welcoming, friendly, cozy environment and delicious food! We will most definitely be back! Thank you

Nice Location - Slow Service We had a party of 8 for a evening meal. The pub is fairly large so there was plenty of space. The service was slow and it took about 10-15mins for someone to ask if we wanted drinks. The drinks arrived fairly promptly once the order was taken. The food order was then taken and it took about 20-25 mins for the food to arrive, which was not bad. The quality of the food was patchy, the burgers were fine, but a couple of our party had the lasagne which was not great, and they left most of it.We waited an age for the plates to be cleared and a couple of the party asked if they could see the dessert menu. They dessert menus were given and then we did not see the waitress for 25+ mins. When she returned we decided not to order desserts but to get them from the shop on the way home as it felt like dawn was breaking outside. We had been here previously and it was ok, so maybe they were short-staffed.

Pleasant country pub with good food and drink Stopped for lunch on journey to Cornwall. Lovely atmosphere in a busy pub. Prompt table service from taking the drink and food order to delivery. Two young people taking and delivering orders who cared about what they were doing. Kitchen was also efficient and two delicious baguettes were brought out in no time at all. Certainly recommend a detour from the main road. Prices were not extortionate either, good value.

Our first visit to claycutters but not our last This is an awesome pub. You can even stay the night in a campervan if you only spend a tenner in pub. We went for Sunday roast and it was very prompt , served by very friendly staff and the food was absolutely first class, good sized portions and very flavoursome. Keep up the fantastic work

Great meal out. Really enjoyed a meal at this place! The steak was cooked to perfection for my liking and probably the best one i've had out. When we arrived there was a lovely atmosphere of people enjoying themselves and was great live music playing and a garden/park for our eldesr to go and play in.The pub is lovely and I would definatley recommend
